Wednesday 24. September 2008 - Through Protecs products, it has opted to modernise its newspapers production systems, thus optimising its resources
The French communications group Pyrénées Presse, active in the publication of newspapers and a part of the Sud Ouest Group, has decided to renew its editorial system using Protecs solutions. Grasping the opportunity with both hands, it has opted for a more modern approach in the shape of a convergent newsroom model, thus joining the new wave that is defining the future of the media sector.
Through the purchase of Protecs products, this group is modernising its systems to improve efficiency in the creation of contents, which undoubtedly will also mean their improvement quality. From now on, all departments involved in producing the groups publications will be integrated, leading to resources being optimised and increased productivity.
Installation has already commenced, and start up with the new components is expected to take place at the end of November of this year. Pyrénées Presse opted for Protec due to the high degree of satisfaction with its products expressed by other members of the group, such as La Charente Libre and Sud Ouest itself.
The Pyrénées Presse group, which was founded in 1 January 1958, is based in Pau and has branches in Orthez, Morlaas and Oloron Sainte Marie. Its main publications are two dailies, LEclair des Pyrénées and La République des Pyrénées. According to the figures for 2005, both have a significant circulation: 10,000 copies for the former and 30,000 for the latter. The two newspapers, which are produced in Pau and are distributed in the same area and other neighbouring localities, share 80 % of content, and unlike most French regional dailies, they do not have any editions.
