Stora Enso appoints Hannu Kasurinen as new head of Wood Products and member of GET
Monday 25. August 2008 - Stora Enso has appointed Hannu Kasurinen as the new head of Stora Enso's Wood Products Business Area and a member of the Group Executive Team (GET) as of today. He will report directly to CEO Jouko Karvinen and be based in Helsinki. Wood Products has, in an exceptionally difficult market situation, performed poorly since the end of last year and made a loss in the past two quarters.
Until today’s appointment, Hannu Kasurinen was responsible for Stora Enso strategy, and before that he was for two years head of Stora Enso Speciality Papers with operations in North America and Europe. With a background in finance and banking, he has previously worked for the Treasury of Enso and was Group Treasurer of Stora Enso for five years.
The former head of Stora Enso Wood Products since 2003, Peter Kickinger, will leave Stora Enso by mutual agreement. He will stay in the office until the end of September 2008 and support Hannu Kasurinen in his new role. Peter has been with the Group for the past ten years since Stora Enso acquired Holzindustrie Schweighofer.
Stora Enso Wood Products provides customer-focused solutions to the construction and joinery industries and the wood products trade worldwide. Stora Enso Wood Products has annual net sales of EUR 1.8 billion and total annual production capacity of 7.5 million m3 of sawn wood products, including 3.2 million m3 of value-added products. Stora Enso Wood Products employs around 5 000 people in 28 mills and in its sales and distribution companies throughout the world.
