Offset Alpine Upgrades to EFI Hagen Prograph

Friday 01. August 2008 - Long-time Logic User to Implement Hagen Prograph for More Powerful Business Management and Planning Capabilities

EFI (NASDAQ: EFII), the world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that customer Offset Alpine Printing (OAP) is upgrading to EFI Hagen Prograph to realize even greater improvements in productivity and workflow efficiency.

Established over 70 years ago, Australia-based OAP specializes in high quality magazine and catalog printing, travel and tourism brochures, direct mail campaigns, corporate brochures, financial documents, annual reports, and other general advertising material. They also provide prepress, finishing, mailing and bindery services.

“OAP has been a Logic user for many years, and a Covalent user before that. They continually leverage the newest and best technology from EFI to grow their business and become more profitable and productive,” said Jeff White, director of sales for EFI’s Advanced Professional Print Software (APPS).

“As a company, we have always been early adopters of technology to allow profitable growth and to maintain our reputation as a market leader in our region. We have streamlined our operation to always meet or exceed client expectations. EFI has been a long-term partner and this has been a key factor in our success,” said Michael Kinninmont, general manager at Offset Alpine. “Despite the geographical challenges, EFI has provided excellent support over the years. We expect this next phase of our management system development will provide further benefits, adding value by delivering cost savings and operational improvements.”

Providing a robust and advanced accounting package with high-end applications for estimating, job management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory and fulfillment, Hagen OA will allow OAP to collect, share, analyze and respond to information in real-time. Prograph’s integration with Hagen offers comprehensive planning capabilities, including versioning, complex imposition, bindery planning and distribution tools, enabling the company to make better business decisions and to enhance its production process. OAP’s planning and shop floor data collection capabilities will be further enhanced with the addition of PrintFlow dynamic scheduling and the EFI Prepress Connector for KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System (see separate press release issued today). OAP will continue to use Paper Monitor and the Auto-Count Direct Machine interface with Hagen Prograph.
