Thursday 31. July 2008 - b2b1 Print Solutions has ordered a COMMERCIAL 106 diecutter from BOBST to cope with increased turnover.

Tony Coleshill, Director of b2b1 Print Solutions, said, “When it comes to the print we produce we have a bit of a reputation as perfectionists, but you can’t create great print without passion, and without great equipment. We believe that the same applies to finishing, which is why we have placed an order for a BOBST COMMERCIAL 106 diecutter”.

Turnover at b2b1 Print Solutions has increased 300% in the last two years, and this increase has created a bottleneck in the company’s diecutting operations. Tony Coleshill said, “It’s vital for us that we create extra capacity in diecutting so that we can maintain our service levels to customers. That extra capacity has to be versatile, and also has to deliver a high quality of product, which is why we chose BOBST”.

The COMMERCIAL 106 is a 7’700 sheet per hour machine and comes complete with a number of useful options for the commercial printer, including features for speeding up makeready, and devices to allow easier running of light materials. The 1’060 mm width of the COMMERCIAL 106 is particularly useful for some of b2b1’s jobs which will utilise the maximum format. BOBST has a special mini-site for its COMMERCIAL range which can be found at www.bobst.com/commercial.

Philippe Michel, Market Director Folding Carton Europe for Bobst Group, visited the plant on Wednesday 16th July to hand over the official order confirmation, accompanied by John Ardern, Bobst Group (UK & Ireland) Product Specialist for diecutting products. Philippe Michel said that the BOBST COMMERCIAL 106 will be installed at the beginning of August.

B2b1 Director Chris Antoniou said, “We wanted a BOBST machine all along, because of the legendary quality of its diecutting and it’s ability to get jobs through that other diecutters can’t. We could have bought a second hand machine, but that way you are just buying other people’s problems, so we kept with our policy of buying new”.

Early in 2008, b2b1 Print Solutions installed a new Screen/Fuji CTP system to provide a complete origination service for its 5 colour Roland 700 press, which was also bought new.
