Objet Announces New Polypropylene-Like Material, DurusWhite FullCure430

Wednesday 16. July 2008 - New Material Offers a new Combination of Toughness, Strength and Flexibility of Polypropylene

Objet Geometries Ltd., the innovation leader in 3-D printing, today announced the release of Durus(TM), the newest addition to its FullCure(R) line of photopolymer materials, simulating plastics. DurusWhite, FullCure430 expands the FullCure line of modeling materials, addresses a broad range of applications requiring polypropylene-like toughness, strength and flexibility, such as food packaging, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components and more.

DurusWhite, gives the same milky-white look and feel of final products made of polypropylene. It simulates the toughness (Izod Notched Impact of 44.22 J/m), flexibility (Elongation at Break of 44.2%) and strength (Modulus of Elasticity of 1135 MPa) of polypropylene.

The mechanical properties of DurusWhite simulate polypropylene resistance to fatigue and enable snap-fit functionality over time, which are critical for products with hinging mechanisms. This is a key success factor for materials in rapid prototyping, where their ability to simulate the final product is their most significant quality.

“DurusWhite FullCure430 is a result of Objet’s continued focus on offering our customers the most versatile solution for all 3-D modeling needs,” said Adina Shorr, CEO of Objet Geometries. “By expanding our range of materials, we enable more applications, particularly in the area of functional prototypes requiring the simulation of polypropylene.”

DurusWhite works with Objet’s 3-Dimensional Printing Systems:
Connex500, Eden500V, Eden350V, Eden350 and Eden330/333. It is delivered in environmental friendly, sealed 3.6kg cartridges.

FullCure430 simulates the toughness, strength and flexibility of Polypropylene.
