Buyers Laboratory Inc. Honors Xerox DocuMate 262i Scanner, an “Excellent Value”

Wednesday 25. June 2008 - Commending its "excellent value," Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), a leading independent tester of document imaging products, selected the Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) DocuMate 262i duplex scanner for a Spring 2008 Pick award as "Outstanding Departmental Scanner."

Scanning up to 76 images per minute in color, the DocuMate 262i is a sheetfed scanner that’s small enough to fit on a desktop. “This model offers very good overall ease of use, media-handling capabilities and bundled software, all for half the price of competitive units tested,” said BLI Research Editor Lisa Reider.

BLI also praised the scanner’s front-feeding input tray for plastic ID cards and faster than average scan speeds in color mode and called the scanner an “excellent value.” Priced at $1,195, the Xerox DocuMate 262i incorporates the convenient Visioneer OneTouch scanning with Kofax VRS (Virtual ReScan) technology, which automatically improves the image quality of faded or degraded original documents.

“BLI’s award proves we have succeeded in delivering an unrivaled combination of price and performance in DocuMate 262i,” said John Capurso, vice president of marketing, Xerox Scanners. “The scanner combines the features our customers want, such as front feeding, at a price they can afford.”

BLI honors the very best office equipment with its semi-annual “Pick” awards. It evaluates scanners on the basis of multiple factors, including reliability, image processing features, ease of use, productivity, file sizes, media handling and value
