France: Expanding With a ROLAND 900
Sunday 08. June 2008 - Fellmann Cartonnages opts for cutting-edge technology and printservices
The printing company Fellmann Cartonnages in France has invested in a ROLAND 900 for its large-format printing facility in Picardie close to Paris. The contract for this sheetfed press with a price tag of around three million euros was signed at drupa.
Packaging specialist Fellmann Cartonnages has its headquarters in Guebwiller in the Alsace region and recently expanded with the acquisition of the Picardie facility. “We intend to establish a modern printing plant here in the heart of France which is why we have invested in a six-color ROLAND 900 format 6 with coating module and double delivery extension. This will ensure we can produce competitively and efficiently in future,” says Managing Director Pascal Fellmann. The new ROLAND 900 will be used to print premium quality packaging for different sorts of muesli, snacks and chips.
The fully-automated ROLAND 900 is to be equipped with non-stop feeder and delivery plus AUPASYS materials logistics and will be delivered at the end of 2008. As Pascal Fellmann explains: “I spent more than a year making comparisons and calculations and then suddenly decided to go with manroland. What convinced me was the groundbreaking technology, the automation, and the printservices support such as maintenance contracts and training.”
