hubergroup – ink people who care!

Monday 16. June 2008 - "ink people who care" - This is the slogan under which the hubergroup, one of the world's most important ink manufacturers, will be showcasing its products and services to the specialist audience at this year's drupa. This maxim not only describes the hubergroup's involvement at the drupa trade fair most aptly, it is indeed an expression of the Group's basic philosophy.

The hubergroup, with its subsidiaries and customers worldwide, unites global experience and research results and is consequently in a position to provide genuine value added – products and services that were developed right from the word go in close cooperation and coordination with the people at the sharp end and that therefore satisfy the highest of demands in all applications, offering consistently high quality, proximity to the customers and customer support worldwide. And last but not least, the hubergroup boasts a wealth of experience gained over many decades in the development and production of printing inks, combined with knowledge of the special requirements of the various press manufacturers that supply the necessary hardware to the world’s printhouses.

The most important innovation in the field of sheet-fed offset inks awaits you at drupa 2008 on the hubergroup stand (Hall 3, C 68): it’s called !NKREDIBLE. The new !NKREDIBLE generation of printing inks is the hugely impressive result of the reverse integration in pigments and resins that became possible upon the Group’s acquisition of MICRO INKS. The intensive exchange of know-how and high level of cooperation practised between the Group’s chemical and process engineers all around the world, together with innovative ideas on raw-material synthesis and on ink formulation, has led to the development of a generation of inks that more than lives up to the constantly increasing demands for quality in the printing industry and the sophisticated production processes of today’s high-speed presses. The six ink series of the !NKREDIBLE generation – RESISTA, RAPIDA, REFLECTA, IMPRESSION, SURPRIZE and PERFEXION – each formulated to offer different degrees of fastness properties, offer the ideal product for every type of application. The heatset ink series REVOLUTION, which is likewise based on our new !NKREDIBLE technology, sets standards in respect of speed and productivity and stands out thanks to its great stability in the production run and excellent drying characteristics. To satisfy the exacting demands of contemporary newspaper printing, the hubergroup offers the new coldset ink system !NKREDIBLE GOOD NEWS, the personalised ink for newspaper printing houses. What’s so special about it? It gives newspaper printers a range of inks that is precisely customised to their own press configuration – printing ink, consulting and fount concentrate from a single source, perfectly tailored to their particular needs and compliant with all the demands of IFRA / ISO Standard 11647-3.
Furthermore, the hubergroup will be presenting a number of other product innovations:
HYDRO-X – the water-based printing inks specifically for packaging printing. The HYDRO-X ink system covers a multitude of applications: HYDRO-WELL for postprinting corrugated board, HYDRO-BAG for printing paper carriers ranging from ordinary paper sacks up to high-quality paper bags, and HYDRO-TOP for producing top-quality packaging, including for the food, confectionery and consumables segment.
GECKO – the solvent-based ink system for packaging printing. This ink system offers solutions for printing on a multitude of different substrates ranging from paper through aluminium foils, plastic films and shrink wrapping films (PE, PVC, PET, OPS) to laminates (OPP, PE, PET, OPA).
MGA – the low-migration ink system for printing food-friendly packaging that conforms with the relevant legislation. This system is organoleptically neutral and contains only substances that are non-toxic.
The hubergroup portfolio is rounded off by a new product series for the UV process, which will be marketed under the name NewV.
ACRYLAC – the water-based coating system for all sheet-fed offset applications has been re-engineered. The upgraded ACRYLAC range stands out thanks to its very good gloss and protective properties as well as its excellent printability. Particular mention should also be made of the fact that the hubergroup is providing, for all products and printing processes, a complete system, including the inks, auxiliaries and fount concentrates – plus service and support – as a single-source supplier.

Apart from its various products and product-specific services, the hubergroup also makes its great wealth of experience available to the entire graphics industry in the form of advanced training courses and seminars run by the INK ACADEMY. Under the motto “share knowledge – gain competence”, the courses offered range from ink-related topics, such as printing-ink technology and the interaction between inks, substrates and printing processes, to general management topics.
