Offset Printing
A stream of visitors and sales
Saturday 07. June 2008 - Packed house at KBA
As expected, attendance figures soared at the weekend, with the KBA stand occasionally bursting at the seams on Saturday. Even the spacious show arena bounded by the four litho presses was often so packed that it was almost impossible to push one’s way through. And the print samples? They were snapped up like hot cakes. Football postcards, film posters, large-format world maps, Formula One and European Cup schedules, foldable windscreen sunshades and much, much more found enthusiastic recipients.
The number of trade professionals visiting the KBA stand was equally large, and the upshot was a string of contracts signed and negotiations launched. Several contracts were received from US printers, and some from Russia. For example, Diton from St Petersburg signed up for a Rapida 105 five-colour coater press with extended delivery, and several orders for Rapidas were also placed by printers from China and Saudi-Arabia. Contracts for China included a Rapida 105 seven-colour coater press which is slated to ship to Hubei Huawen Packagung in Wuan in October. Three Rapida 106 six-colour coater presses with a UV capability were ordered by Sheikh Fahed El Obeikan for his printing plant in Riyadh. They will ship in October, December and early next year.
