Drupa press to go to France

Wednesday 11. June 2008 - Imprimerie Escourbiac takes Rapida 105

When Drupa closes its doors, the five-colour Rapida 105 on the KBA stand will be packed off to French printer Imprimerie Escourbiac near Toulouse. It will be the second medium-format Rapida that owner Philippe Escourbiac is installing in his press room.

Although the Rapida will replace an older press, it will also expand the company’s capabilities because for the first time it will be able to offer inline finishing. The Rapida’s high output and advanced level of automation (plate changing included) will furnish additional fire-power for handling a larger volume of work.
Most of the products printed by Imprimerie Escourbiac are promotional publications and luxury art books. The coating capability will allow the company to win new contracts in both sectors by creating some highly impressive visual effects. The full-service print enterprise employs 43 staff and finishes virtually all its products in-house – only binding for the art books is outsourced to specialists.
