“Expanding business opportunities with innovation” – at drupa Mimaki showcases its flatbed large format JF family of UV inkjet printers
Tuesday 03. June 2008 - At drupa in Düsseldorf (May 29th to June 11th, 2008) Mimaki visitors wil be able to see the JF family of industrial large format UV inkjet printers.
Mimaki Engineering, a leading manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and cutting machines for the Sign / Graphics, Industrial markets, and Textile / Apparel, will be exhibiting its JF-1610 UV flatbed printer.
Among the numerous products and solutions at the Mimaki Europe stand visitors will find the JF-1610 industrial flatbed inkjet printer for printing on various rigid and flexible substrates up to a size of 1.602 x 1.016 m. This unique machine offers a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi with a minimum dot size of 6 pl. and can print up to six colours (CMYK+Lc+Lm) plus white and clear coating. By using white ink as the base colour, images gain more depth and a decisive enhancement in brilliance, especially when printed on uncoated, transparent and coloured media. To add even more vividness, gloss and higher scratch resistance, clear coating can be applied, which also enhances colour fastness.
For printers who need longer print runs, the JF family can be employed with two inkjet cartridges of each colour in CMYK mode.
In combination with the recently launched CF 3 series of large format flatbed cutters, available in the same sizes as the JF family, the JF series provides the ideal print and cut combination for production of a multitude of industrial applications, among them plastics, acrylics, cartonboard, Dibond and other even and uneven materials.
A powerful vacuum system holds the media flat and stationary, thus ensuring high accuracy printing even on heavy or easily misaligned substrates. In addition the air reversal system serves for easy alignment, moving or replacing of heavy substrates up to a thickness of 50 mm.
A jam detection sensor prevents head strikes of deformed substrates such as bending or warping.
The machine comes with the high performance RIP software RasterLink Pro IP III. The new version of RasterLink Pro features super-smooth 16-bit rending, white layer print functionality and an ink cost calculation feature among others. Optionally Mimakis Profile Master II software can be obtained and used. Its equalisation feature creates a consistent and highly accurate colour environment for all identical inkjet printers in a shop. It allows printers to quickly respond to bulk orders by clustering. The equalisation feature allows the use of several output devices simultaneously as it calibrates all printers to the same colour values thereby enhancing performance, productivity and accuracy at the same time.
