“Expanding business opportunities with innovation” – Mimakis JV5 series with new HEAVY DUTY ROLL UPTAKE SECTION at drupa
Sunday 01. June 2008 - At drupa in Düsseldorf (May 29th to June 11th, 2008) Mimaki will showcase its productive high-end JV5 series of large format printers.
Mimaki Engineering, a leading manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and cutting machines for the Sign / Graphics, Industrial markets, and Textile / Apparel, will present the JV5-160S large format printer.
The new AMF (Auto Media Feeder) unit accomodates media up to a weight of 130 kg. Thus heavy duty media can be used as well as the roll up serves for longer uninterrupted printing.
The JV5 series is a very productive large format solvent printer family that is also available as dye sublimation version for transfer printing. The JV5-160S can print up to 1.6 m in width, with a top speed of 58 m2/h at 540 x 720 dpi in 4-color mode. The JV5 series is equipped with a nozzle check and recovery system to support continuous production. In addition to the eco-solvent ink, Mimaki has just developed aggressive, yet low-odor, environmentally-friendly Eco-HS and EcoHS1 ink for ultra-fast print of JV5 series. The JV5 series can print in 4-color or 6-color mode (CMYKLcLm).
The JV5-320S prints vivid accurate images at speeds of up to 42 sqm/h in high quality and 60 sqm/h in high speed mode (JV5-160S: 40 sqm/h in high qualiy and 58 sqm/h in high speed mode; JV5-130S: 37 sqm/h in high quality and 53 sqm/h in high speed mode). This printer features the unique UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) and a staggered head array of four print heads. Nozzle failure detection which monitors the ink-discharging state from the printing head and detects and cleans clogged nozzles, thus reducing waste, is incorporated as a standard feature.
The new sb51 aqueous dye sublimation inks feature a faster drying time in order to match the high speed of the JV5 series. Furthermore the new quick drying ink enhances print quality because bleeding is less likely and the colour density of especially the black ink is much improved as is wash- and crock-fast.
