GIDUE at DRUPA 2008: a customer-minded, flexible approach to highly productive, and profitable, label and packaging converting

Friday 23. May 2008 - GIDUE, Italian manufacturer of narrow and mid-web printing presses, will display its array of dynamic, cost-efficient Total Packaging solutions to meet the demands of the modern label and packaging printer.

At GIDUE we know how to respond to the needs of the printing industry, and consequently of our customers, for high productivity in short and medium runs, cost-efficiency, time and waste savings, process sustainability, not failing to remember the requests for top quality and accuracy of output.
GIDUE S.p.A., based in Turate, Italy, one of the world leading manufacturers of label and packaging printing and converting machines, couldn’t miss this year’s Drupa opportunity, mindful of the great success gathered during the 2004 edition. GIDUE will offer the visitors the possibility to experience the value and quality of its broad range of solutions for labels and flexible filmic substrates.
The stand will be the stage for the presentation of the new Hi-Offset technology, which combines robustness and superior intelligent control for the sake of the best offset quality. The GIDUE’s mid-web “Flexo Idea”, dedicated to the flexible packaging industry, will also be demonstrated.

LAUNCH OF THE NEW HI-OFFSET TECHNOLOGY
The Xpannd, an hybrid flexo/offset/silkscreen machine – featuring high-end converting capabilities including hot stamping, cold foil, embossing, die-cutting – is the answer to the needs for all-in-one-pass, in-line printing and maximum efficiency in short runs inside a fully standardised offset job flow. GIDUE will show in Düsseldorf a 370mm press combining the Flower technology (patent flexo head), – which means simplicity of operation, limited downtime, durability, – and its enhanced offset unit, which has already confirmed itself as the most reliable group for narrow web label printing. The Hi-Offset technology brings many advantages: increased ink transportation to achieve better results in terms of design impact and colour
brightness; continuous check on the printing quality output resulting in a reduced incidence of the so-called “ghosting” phenomenon and new temperature, dampening and inking controls planning to lower wastage at start-up. An optimal colour consistency is guaranteed all over the process, from start-up “pace” of 12 m/min to 150 m/min maximum achievable speed.

THE IDEAL SOLUTION FOR FLEXIBLE PACKAGING PRINTING
The second machine displayed is the UV flexo sleeve press Athena, width 630 – available in the range from 530 to 730mm – printing food packaging and shrink sleeves for the beverage and cosmetics sectors.
The flexo press Athena will demonstrate its in-line, flexible, safe (solvent-free) approach, heightening the advantages of the use of UV technology. Its high productivity in short and medium runs is the ideal answer to the rising needs of the flexible packaging industry – traditionally using solvent rotogravure and central drum presses – for elevated cost-efficiency and simplicity of operation. Visitors will be introduced to GIDUE’s solutions in the field of environmental sustainability and maximum food packaging safety.
Both machines are intelligent machines for full control on the machine operation and are equipped with high-end feedback instruments for accurate web inspection and perfect register monitoring through a complete set of cameras located on every print station. GIDUE Hall 10/Stand C40.
