The company announces the market launch of a ground-breaking color printing technology for personalizing Smart Cards and passport holder pages, which base on 100% polycarbonate.
This technology sets a new milestone in the area of card and passport personalization! Besides various well-known security features, its now possible to enhance security-relevant documents even more by personalizing e.g. a colored photo onto polycarbonate material.
Smart Cards and passports based on polycarbonate guarantee a maximum of durability for fulfilling the recommondations of the ICAO concerning a long lifetime. After the color print is attached, the remaining data can be personalized for example by a highly secure laser engraving process. In addition a secure overlay can be applied. By using contacted or contactless chip technology in combination with this new process, the result is an absolutely high quality ID document. Due to the highest resolution of color printing and laser engraving as well as the longtime durability of the polycarbonate material it is impossible to counterfeit these documents.
