Litho, flexo or gravure – Watson-Marlow Bredel has a pump to suit all print processes (Hall 07.2 Stand C08)

Thursday 15. May 2008 - At Drupa 2008, leading peristaltic pump manufacturer Watson-Marlow Bredel will be showcasing its range of peristaltic pumps for litho, flexo and gravure processes.

Specified by manufacturers such as MAN-Roland, Heidelberg, Komori, and Martin, Watson-Marlow pumps are ideal drop-in replacements for air-operated diaphragm (AOD) pumps because they have no seals or valves to clog and they provide a smooth, low shear flow.

Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps are increasingly the first choice for handling inks and coatings. All series feature LoadSure tube elements to ensure perfect tube loading, greater flow accuracy and the fastest changeover time with no pump clean down.

720 series for litho printing
Watson-Marlow Bredel’s 720 series cased pumps are becoming an industry standard for pumping coatings and metallic ink in litho printing. They provide users with flow rates up to 2,000 litres or 4,000 litres, through either one or two channels, and tube elements featuring Cam and Groove connectors to simplify pump installation.

520 and 620 series close coupled pumps for flexo printing
Watson-Marlow Bredel’s close-coupled 520 and 620 series pumps continue to be popular in flexo printing applications where they offer improved performance and accuracy in applications such as ink feeding and scavenging from anilox rollers, delivering flows up to 18 litres a minute.

OEM pumps – customer service on demand
OEM pumps, with flow rates ranging from microlitres/min to 33 litres/min are developed to match the user’s specifications. Small and lightweight, single and multi-channel pumps are available with or without motors for customer installations. Pumps and electronic controls can be tailored to fit to customers’ equipment and needs.

Also on the stand will be the latest IAV ink and lacquer conditioning equipment which demonstrates Watson-Marlow’s capability in a doctor blade ink feed and recovery system. IAV are leaders in the field of systems engineering and supply the leading press manufacturers.

Peristaltic pumps are ideal for the print industry because, unlike other types of pump, inks and coatings are contained within a tube from source to delivery. Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps are instantly reversible, so the pumped fluid can be returned to source so minimising waste.

Watson-Marlow peristaltic pumps are self-priming and provide constant and accurate flow rates across all viscosities of inks and coatings. In addition, their low shear pumping action ensures there is no foaming or other degradation of the ink or coating.

In short, Watson-Marlow Bredel has a pump suitable for any print process. The company’s peristaltic pumps improve print quality and press operation and reduce changeover time, ultimately saving money for today’s printer.

Engineers will be available on stand C08 in Hall 7.2 for the duration of the exhibition to answer any questions about Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps and tubing and to discuss the benefits of peristaltic technology for the printing, packaging and converting industries.
