Tuesday 13. May 2008 - At Drupa 2008 Schwegmann will present products of a new generation in the field of VOC reduction for fountain additives and washing solutions.

In commercial printing with offset printing (sheet-fed offset and heatset printing) in many cases isopropyl alcohol is added to the fountain water. For quite some time the substitution of IPA has been worked upon because of environmental and cost reasons.

Schwegmann developed new fountain additives for printing without any alcohol in sheet-fed offset and heatset printing. There is no need for adding any isopropyl alcohol or alcohol substitutes when the new Schwego Soft fountain additives are used. Fast running clean of the printing plate, stable ink/water balance and no build-up on the blanket are the outstanding characteristics of the new additives.

Detailed information on the new Schwego Soft fountain additives as well as written instructions for “Printing without any alcohol” are available for all interested persons.

The new, innovative washing solutions are no longer mineral oil based but are aqueous systems. They are water dilutable, VOC-free and biologically degradable.

These cleaning agents of the Schwego Aqua Clean-Series are outstanding for their wide variety of applications, their high cleaning power and the ecofriendly composition. These cleaning agents are used in offset, flexo, screen and gravure printing.
