User-Friendly Aspirin Relaunch
Thursday 08. May 2008 - Side-loaing top-opening alternative replaces standard folding carton / Usage of existing packaging lines /
In April Bayer HealthCare supplied German pharmacies with new packaging for what is probably its best-known drug worldwide. The normal “standard 50” Aspirin carton has been replaced by a side-loading top-opening version. The new packaging, which has also been graphically redesigned, is available for the product family in 20, 50 and 100-tablet sizes.
“The tablet blister packs are now easier for the user to take out and put back again,” stresses Meino Adam, Project Manager for pharmaceutical packaging development at Edelmann. In fact, the carton is still filled through the side as before, but the goods are taken out via the large surface.
The existing production lines can also be used for the new packs with no difficulty, so no investment in new machines has been necessary. The new packs are produced by the Edelmann subsidiary Braun Pharmadruck in Bitterfeld.
