Thursday 01. May 2008 - MyColorViz Creative effect design software for Adobe Photoshop is first of its kind New additions to www.matchmycolor.com, including a comprehensive service for ordering color samples online
Ciba is presenting two new solutions for the handling and management of colors and effects at DRUPA 2008 in Düsseldorf from May 29 to June 11. At the Ciba MetalFX stand, D17 in Hall 15, Ciba will be demonstrating MyColorViz Creative, a next-generation effect visualization and design software for Adobe Photoshop, which shows printed surfaces in 3-D and under true lighting conditions. Another highlight, the latest version of the www.matchmycolor.com website, the one-stop shop for color formulation and color supplier contacts, will be shown at the Flint Group stand, C38 in Hall 05.
“Expanding the revolutionary MetalFX Color system with breakthrough design tools is a decisive step in our strategy to make the technology more accessible to designers,” says Sonia Megert Marshall, Global Head of Ciba Color Services. “The new offering is the combined result of cutting-edge technologies we have recently acquired and Cibas own long history of expertise in the management of color and effects.”
MyColorViz Creative effect visualization and design software for Adobe Photoshop is able to show accurately the final appearance of metallic prints, so that brand owners and designers in the packaging and graphic arts industries can design, experiment with and simulate various metallic printing effects onscreen. Before going to print, they can see their designs as they will look on the end product.
MyColorViz Creative allows graphic designers to create various silver effects based on real print process parameters, allowing for regional differences in inks and printing standards. It also performs five-color separation, enabling the design to be transferred directly to the printing production process without interfering with the standard user workflow. MyColorViz Creative, which uses MetalFX patented metallic printing technology, is the first soft-proofing software for metallic printing. Compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, MyColorViz Creative is supplied on a stand-alone basis or as part of the MetalFX Design kit, which also includes MetalFX swatch books.
New additions to www.matchmycolor.com, the award-winning toolbox of solutions for color management, include supply of real-time, formulated color samples matched by the sites online color-matching system; a revamp of the online color feasibility process to make it more intuitive to use and to allow multiple calculations to be performed simultaneously; and new partner Flint Group, which is dedicated to serving the global printing and packaging industries with printing inks, printing plates and sleeve systems, pressroom chemicals, blankets and sleeves.
“The new functionality will make it easy for a brand owner to check the real-world feasibility of their brands entire color palette simultaneously, or a specific brand color in a variety of applications and on a variety of substrates,” says Sonia Megert Marshall.
“We regard www.matchmycolor.com as the future of the color industry, and were pleased to position ourselves on the platform as a supplier of printing inks,” says Avon Joyce, Marketing Manager for Packaging Inks for Flint Group Europe. “Users of www.matchmycolor.com will be able to formulate with our inks and contact us through the website.”
