Thursday 24. April 2008 - New member initiatives set to meet market challenges and drive profitability

Re-launched as ‘prism’, the UK’s leading specialist imaging association (previously known as the DSPA), announces exciting new member benefits and initiatives. These new initiatives are designed to support market changes and address the needs of businesses across the supply chain, ultimately, enabling prism members to increase business competitiveness, productivity, profitability and performance.

First and foremost, prism has extended its membership to include all suppliers within the digital, screen and pad printing markets – throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Other key 2008 landmark activity includes:

Sign & Digital UK Seminars – ‘Unveiling current wide format inkjet technology’; ‘Unleash your creative power and fuel more profit’
Events & Exhibitions – ‘Garment & Product Decorating’; ‘Exhibiting Show’
prism Summit – ‘Price is not the only differentiator – Value Added Solutions’
prism Forum – ‘Take the green advantage’
Corporate Services – Discounted energy package for every size of business
John Keith, prism business manager, comments: ‘While our industry is among one of the most exciting and innovative in the world, UK business challenges such as overcapacity and response to environmental concerns are seriously impacting their profitability and future success.

‘To address this, prism is unveiling its new membership package, delivering the tools and knowledge to meet these challenges head-on and enable sustained competitiveness and growth.’

Further acknowledging the key role that prism plays within the industry, HP has committed to becoming the association’s sole Digital Technology Partner. HP is supporting prism’s presence at the show, as well as its new initiatives such as the forthcoming prism Summit and Forum.

Association member, Graphique Media Solutions, is looking forward to benefitting from the new initiatives. Allan Hall, Business Development Manager, Graphique Media Solutions, comments, ‘The services offered by the DSPA, as it was previously known, have been of great assistance to our business. With the launch of prism, we expect to see the additional member benefits positively impact our bottom-line.’ The Cornwall-based large-format digital printing company is renowned for its high-quality products and followed the success of winning ‘gold’ at the FESPA Digital Print Awards 2007, which were supported by HP, with a commendation at this year’s event.

As well as representing the UK market at FESPA Digital Printing Europe, being a part of FESPA, enables the UK association to provide prism member access to a host of global resources. These include events, market reports, project funding, best practice, knowledge and training. In addition, prism has also devised a host of other member activity and support, designed to further tackle industry issues.

As the voice of the industry, prism is well placed to promote the breadth of opportunities available to print buyers and end users. It aims to do this through highlighting the creativity and unique opportunities provided by ‘specialist imaging’ technology and services – which produce a host of end user applications including, POS, graphics, industrial, garment and textiles.

John Keith concludes: ‘Having researched, planned and developed our offering over a number of months, we are now really excited to officially launch prism and roll-out the new member benefits and initiatives. In addition to helping existing members improve their business performance, we also expect significant interest from non members, and look forward to increasing the prism community.’
