Aldersons supplements its cutting and stitching operations
Wednesday 02. April 2008 - Alderson Brothers Print Group has added further finishing equipment from Heidelberg to expand its cutting and stitching capabilities at its West Molesey site.
A new Polar 78X guillotine has been added to augment the companys fast turnaround litho print facility, and will sit alongside the recently installed Anicolor press.
“Polar is a proven, quality piece of cutting equipment,” said Ron Alderson, joint managing director of the company. “Its what we call a standard buy – you want a guillotine, get a Polar.”
The new ST350 stitching line has been added to the companys web printing division. The four station plus cover feeder line will help to significantly reduce the amount of outwork for the company.
“We are printing runs of up to five million on our Goss presses, and we needed to expand our own in house stitching capabilities to help keep up with this growing demand,” says Ron Alderson.
The company already has a Stitchmaster line in-house, so is used to the speed and quality provided by Heidelberg stitchers.
Both these models are on show at Heidelbergs finishing open house in Tamworth which takes place from 15-17 April, 9am to 5pm.
