Compass Sessions – navigational aid for print and media entrepreneurs

Friday 28. March 2008 - This year’s Compass Sessions, staged in conjunction with drupa 2008, will feature highly topical themes and internationally renowned speakers. The two-hour seminars promise to offer information especially of value to print and media industry decision makers looking for guidance on investment decisions. On eleven days (from 9am and 11am), the Compass Sessions will tackle digital printing, digital workflows, offset printing,

Web-to-print solutions, printed electronics, premedia and packaging printing. Over 40 international speakers will help participants get their bearings among the broad scope of offerings at drupa.

The Compass Session on Wednesday, 4 June will focus on printed electronics and, unlike all the others, extend over four hours from 9am to 1pm. Jointly organised with the Organic Electronic Association (OE-A), the seminar will include reports by high-calibre speakers and representatives of leading companies from Germany and abroad on the latest developments in this rapidly growing market.

The Compass Sessions coordinated by the Print & Media Forum AG will benefit from contributions by James Harvey of the USA, Prof. Arved Hübler from Germany, Stephan Jaeggi of Switzerland, Wolfgang Mildner of Germany, Menno Mooij of the Netherlands, Frank Romano from the USA, Florian Süßl from Germany, David van Driessche from Belgium, David Zwang from Belgium and many more. Acting as cooperation partners to the Compass Sessions will be Ghent Working Group, Fachverband Faltschachtel-Industrie (folding carton association – FFI), Pro Carton Deutschland and the Organic Electronic Association (OE-A).

Combined with a light breakfast, the Compass Sessions in the Congress Center East at the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center form the ideal start to the drupa day. As well as providing information, they also offer an ideal meeting point to get together with colleagues and exchange news and views at an international level. A drupa admission ticket is not needed to access the Congress Center East. The conference languages will be German and English (simultaneous interpreting). Participation will cost EUR 75 per day. Members of the print and media associations as well as the cooperation partners will be admitted for a reduced fee of EUR 60.
