KBA gears up for growth in Australasia
Wednesday 19. March 2008 - New offices in Sydney and Melbourne
Following recent orders from The Mercury in Hobart for a single-wide KBA Comet newspaper press and from Glama Pak in Melbourne for a third large-format Rapida, KBA Australasia is expanding its operations over the next two months to support further growth both in sheetfed and web sales.
The existing premises in Lane Cove, Sydney, will be replaced by two new offices, one in Hyde Parade, Campbelltown, Sydney and the other in Ricketts Road, Mt. Waverley, Melbourne. The new offices will provide improved customer care and support to customers in both cities.
For sheetfed sales, headed by Dave Lewis based in Melbourne, interviews are currently being conducted for an additional sales executive in Sydney.
The position of Web Sales Director for Australasia will be taken by N.L. Chin, who will move to the Campbelltown office from KBA Asia-Pacific in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Chin has more than twenty years’ experience in KBA newspaper and commercial web press sales and has often supported KBA Australasia sales efforts in the past. He will be based in Sydney to offer web solutions to meet customer’s individual production needs.
The existing sheetfed service team will be joined by an additional web service specialist from KBA in Würzburg, Germany. Based at the Campbelltown office, he will provide support for all KBA web customers in Australasia.
The supply of spare parts will also shortly be improved with a new user-friendly, browser-based ordering system that is undergoing final trials this quarter. This new “Web Shop” will allow customers to check on stocks and order direct from KBA Germany.
