The New York Times Company Promotes Laurena L. Emhoff to Vice President, Treasurer

Monday 17. March 2008 - The New York Times Company announced today that Laurena L. Emhoff, assistant treasurer, has been promoted to vice president, treasurer, effective March 22.

In making the announcement, James M. Follo, senior vice president and chief financial officer, said, “I’m very pleased that Laurena is taking on this new role. Her management abilities, knowledge of our company and financial expertise make her ideally suited to it.”
Ms. Emhoff was named assistant treasurer of The New York Times Company in July 2005. She became director-treasury of the Times Company in 2001. Previously she was a consultant and principal consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1999 to 2001. Before that time, she served in a number of treasury department positions at the Times Company since joining the Company in 1992. Ms. Emhoff worked at JP Morgan & Company from 1991 to 1992. She received a B.S. degree in finance from New York University in 1991 and an executive M.B.A. degree from New York University in 1997.
