George Reeve goes full colour

George R Reeve is making its first full colour press purchase, taking a Speedmaster SM 52-4 to replace a two-colour.

Tuesday 12. February 2008 - George R Reeve is making its first full colour press purchase, taking a Speedmaster SM 52-4 to replace a two-colour.

The investment is part funded by a consumables deal, enabling it link some of the capital repayment costs with ink usage.

“Running with a four-colour will make us more efficient. People want work printed quicker and price is everything so production efficiency matters,” says managing director John Seager.

The company produces a wide range of work including magazines leaflets and brochures for customers who come to the Wymondham firm from East Anglia but also as far as Leeds, London and the south coast.

“As we buy our Saphira inks we repay part of the loan and this irons out any seasonal peaks and troughs. We have always been a Heidelberg customer so it made sense for us to return to them for this purchase.”

The minders are keen to have the press in place. It arrives at the beginning of February. The press, which features the CP2000 press control, will run on flexible days and will be fed with plates from a HighWater system.
