Domino To Exhibit Innovative Glass Coding Solutions At G, P & T
Tuesday 05. February 2008 - Domino UK Ltd, part of the total coding, marking, traceability and variable printing solutions provider, Domino Printing Sciences, will be demonstrating a selection of innovative products at the forthcoming Glass, Processing & Technology (G, P & T) Show.
Foremost on display will be Dominos S200+ scribing laser system. Also on the stand, from the worlds best-selling range of continuous ink jet printers will be the A200 classic, while Dominos new track and trace Crystalware software for the glass industry will be available for visitors to experience first hand.
The versatile and cost-effective S-Series plus range of high performance scribing lasers has been designed to deliver high quality coding solutions that increase overall equipment effectiveness. The S-Series plus provides increased productivity and flexibility to deliver permanent and precise letter quality codes in the most demanding production environments, allowing high-speed printing from simple, one-line codes in a range of fonts, to more complex applications involving real time data, serial numbers, Logos and 2D codes. From this range, visitors to the Domino stand will witness the high performance laser technology of the versatile S200+.
The S200+ uses a compact and highly versatile laser beam steered by advanced scanning technology to provide consistent, permanent clear codes, from single-line batch codes to multiple lines with real time data. Developed for use in demanding production environments, the laser comes fitted with high-resolution optics as standard to offer a smaller spot size and increased marking speed, making it ideal for the glass industry.
To enable dynamic internal track and trace Domino has developed software specifically for the glass industry, which matches the right batch or sheet with the right frame. Crystalware interfaces between order entries, optimisation software and Dominos S200+ scribing laser system, eliminating errors and creating complete peace of mind for users.
Trevor Nichols, UK Laser Business Manager, comments: “The S200+ scribes a high quality and discreet code onto glass prior to the toughening process and allows variable traceability information to be added, in both human and machine readable formats. The clarity of the code is unaffected by the toughening process. The S200+ harnesses Dominos proven expertise in scribing laser technology and offers excellent performance, speed and reliability. Its compact control unit is easy to install and maintain, fits into tight production spaces and is easy to use, making it all the more appealing for users.”
The worlds best selling continuous ink jet printer, Dominos A-Series offers a fast, extremely reliable and high quality printing solution that integrates seamlessly into new and existing glass production equipment. The A200, in conjunction with Dominos wide range of special inks, is particularly suitable for printing onto glass, as well as other substrates such as plastic, metal and rubber.
The A200 prints up to four lines of text with a variety of print formats, including logos, bar codes/dot codes, automatic serial numbering/batch coding and real time clocks. Ideal for basic coding requirements in everyday production environments, the A200 is easy-to-use, consistent and reliable, requiring only minimal operator intervention.
Simon Cox, Domino UKs General Manager, adds: “Understanding and responding to the specific requirements of our customers is key to further developing our existing field-proven technology.
Our knowledge, strength and customer base in the glass processing and technology sector and proven ink jet and laser technologies allow us to provide the quality and reliability that end-users expect.”
