3XDRY technology with growth in double figures

Tuesday 29. January 2008 - Feelgood technology from Schoeller and Huntsman established in 25 countries

With 28 finishing plants in western and eastern Europe, 25 partner companies in Asia, 9 license-holders in Americas and 3 in Australia, the distribution partnership between Schoeller Technologies AG and Huntsman Textile Effects, established in 2005, can look back on a successful business year. The number of licensed finishing partners increased by 50% to 65 world-wide within one year. Availability in new markets has also been further expanded.
Textiles with 3XDRY finish repel water and dirt from the outside and absorb moisture from the inside. Clothing with 3XDRY keeps the body dryer, prevents perspiration stains and produces a cooling effect. The high level of functionality remains intact far in excess of 40 washing cycles and, if necessary, can be renewed time and again through heat treatment (ironing or tumble drying). This “Feelgood Technology” is being offered world-wide by qualified finishing companies. “We started off in the area of active sports and shirting. Then work wear discovered the benefits of the effect. New areas are being added on an almost monthly basis,” says Hans U. Kohn, COO Schoeller Technologies AG. The availability of the simultaneously hydrophobic and hydrophilic finishing technology is currently used by 65 license-holders around the globe. “We are presently in negotiations with 40 additional companies in order to meet the growing demand, in terms of both quantity and quality. This business is booming,” adds Hans U. Kohn.
3XDRY in new markets
In the product areas of active sportswear, lifestyle, denim,, men’s and women’s shirting , golf apparel, career wear, uniforms, fitness and training gear, military wear, work wear, lingerie and sleepwear, equestrian wear, fishing and hunting gear – both industry and consumers have recognized the benefits of the 3XDRY finish and are eagerly adopting them. Having its foundation in the core markets, the “feelgood technology” is growing and establishing itself along the entire textile chain.
3XDRY finish keeps the body dry from the inside and dry from the outside and allows clothing to dry 6-8 times faster than garments without 3XDRY finish. Brands such as Aigner, Blauer, Bogner, Bugatti, Burton, Daniel Hechter, Frauenschuh, Goldwin, Hugo Boss, Goldwin, La Sportiva, Mammut, Phenix, Pierre Cardin, Pfanner, Puma, Simms and The North Face are using 3XDRY in their collections. In 2005, Schoeller Technologies AG (patent holder and subsidiary of Schoeller Textil AG) and Huntsman Textile Effects established a distribution partnership for 3XDRY technology.
Huntsman is responsible for the customer-oriented and quality-conscious tapping of new markets in the technical field (finishing companies) and Schoeller Technologies AG for the marketing, branding, and patent area.
