Crown Offers Customers Picture-Perfect Printing
Friday 25. January 2008 - Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) ( www.crowncork.com) has announced the development of a new print technology, which significantly enhances the quality of images that can be reproduced on beverage cans.
The company’s beer and soft drinks customers across North America & Europe can now take advantage of High Quality Print, an exciting new technique which considerably extends the traditional studio print reproduction process.
High Quality Print makes use of proprietary separation techniques and special, high resolution printing plates, which allow for improved dot spacing, leading to superior print reproduction of complex images on cans. As such, the technique is particularly suitable for reproducing fine detail images such as human or animal faces, fruit and fine text.
“The use of fine detailed images on packaging is becoming an increasingly popular phenomenon across Europe & North America as marketers look to help differentiate their products from the competition,” says Caroline Archer-Reed, marketing director for CROWN Bevcan Europe & Middle East.
“Cans have long offered superior benefits in terms of strength, chillability and convenience but with the advent of innovative printing techniques like High Quality Print, they increasingly offer marketers the perfect natural billboard for conveying brand messages, both on shelf and in consumers’ hands”, Archer-Reed added.
Tom Hughes, marketing manager of CROWN Beverage Packaging North America, commented: “Crown’s latest technology allows marketers to engage a consumer with clear messaging and alluring graphic detail.
“High Quality Print is part of Crown’s ongoing development program in print technology which will help marketers to further enhance their products and deliver eye-catching presence on supermarket shelves.”
