Fleiner Elects to Retire; Paugh Promoted to President – Gypsum

Wednesday 23. January 2008 - Georgia-Pacific LLC today announced that Dave Fleiner, president - Gypsum, has elected to retire effective Feb. 29, 2008. Brent Paugh, vice president of sales for gypsum, will assume the role of president - Gypsum upon Fleiner's retirement. Paugh will report to Jim Hannan, CEO and president, and have leadership responsibility for the company's gypsum and chemical businesses.

Craig Jacks, currently gypsum Eastern U.S. sales manager, is being promoted to vice president of sales for gypsum, filling the vacancy created by Paugh’s promotion.

“I want to thank Dave for his 37 years of dedication, commitment and leadership to our company,” said Hannan. “He’s been a passionate leader and a strong business mentor for many Georgia-Pacific employees. His contributions have added a lot of value to our gypsum and chemical businesses. I have been fortunate to learn so much about these businesses from Dave and to have him as a valuable member of our leadership team. Likewise, Dave has built a strong gypsum leadership team, and I look forward to working with Brent to continue growing the business and making it an even greater success.”

“I have so much confidence in our company and its future, the team in our gypsum and chemical businesses, and in Brent’s leadership, the time is right for me to retire,” Fleiner added. “I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time with my wife at our home on Hilton Head Island, S.C.; traveling; doing some serious fishing; getting my golf game back into shape; and generally enjoying my family.”

During his career with Georgia-Pacific, Fleiner served in sales leadership roles for several building products businesses, as business vice president for both structural panels and gypsum, and since 2000 as president of gypsum. Under his leadership, the GP Dens(TM) brand of value-added gypsum products revenue more than quadrupled. In 2006, the chemical business was aligned under Fleiner’s leadership. In addition to numerous past national affiliations, he currently serves as a board member for the Gypsum Association and HomeAid America.

Paugh joined Georgia-Pacific in the company’s building products distribution division in 1978. He moved to the gypsum business in 1992 and was promoted to vice president of sales for that business in 2002. Paugh received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Alabama.
