New Studio Manager 9 takes advantage of new FileMaker Pro 9 features to address the special needs of creative services businesses and work groups.

Thursday 24. January 2008 - Exploits FileMaker Pro 9’s new Conditional Formatting feature to create dynamic color-coding for error-checking and production and financial alerts.

Studio Manager 9 is a state-of-the-art vertical market solution for the business side of creative services. This is a world of hard deadlines, fixed budgets and escalating last minute customer requests. Studio Manager 9’s new dynamic color alerts let everyone see what is hot, overdue or soon to be over budget so they know what to focus on. Designed for customization and flexibility.
Creative professionals demand customization and Studio Manager 9 delivers. In times past, a program could be inflexible. That sort of worked then, but we all know that this approach fails miserably in our turbulent times. Unfortunately, few vertical market software products allow true customization and extensibility. Based on FileMaker Pro 9, the king of rapid database development, Studio Manager 9 is open and customizable. You can complement it with other modules, extend your own existing FileMaker-based solution or even copy and paste pieces of Studio Manager into your own solution.
Script groups make customization manageable.
Studio Manager 9 takes advantage of FileMaker Pro 9’s new script groups and outlining features. Its power is made possible by more than 600 scripts. All those scripts could be unwieldy if not neatly grouped for easy access. You can expand and collapse different scripting groups as you need them. When you go in to change or add a script, all you see is a short list of script groups with disclosure triangles ready to go. Working with scripts just got a lot easier.
Address Book integration and v-card creation
If you are on Tiger or Leopard like most creative professionals are, you can save a step by transferring Studio Manager contact information into Address Book with the push of a button. If the contact already exists, you have are given the option to update it. PC or Mac, click to generate v-cards to integrate with other contact management software.
Employee task views
FileMaker’s slick tab-making feature made it a snap to provide four ways for employees to see what they have to do. You can see today’s tasks, overdue tasks, upcoming tasks and all undone tasks. These views use the new conditional formatting so that overdue items grab your attention and today’s work is also clear, not overwhelming. Much better.
Covers all the business bases better than ever in a single file
Studio Manager makes short work of scheduling, job cost tracking, timesheets, estimating, contact management, billing, receivables, purchase orders, job notes and outgoing correspondence. New to SM9 is extended support of summary estimates, profit reporting for job components, and job thumbnails.
Studio Manager 9 works with:
