The newspapers have also laid a plan to work with DTI on future innovations to maximize workflow and content management. The Albany Times Union is the leading daily newspaper covering New York’s Capital Region.
“Through our partnership with DTI, we will be able to provide our employees at the Houston Chronicle and Albany Times Union with new, state-of-the-art newsroom computer systems,” said George Irish, president of Hearst Newspapers. “This, in turn, will allow us to continue bringing the best possible productboth print and digitalto our readers.”

Through Liquid Media, newspapers can flow data into any system, existing or new, regardless of platform.
“We look forward to working in partnership with Hearst Newspapers,” said Don Oldham, CEO of DTI. “We believe together we can bring new innovation to the Houston Chronicle and Albany Times Union in this time of change in the newspaper industry.”
Both properties are expected to go live with NewsSpeed in 2008. The Houston Chronicle will install 360 seats, and the Albany Times Union will have 150.
