Also at the show, Fujitsu will be announcing an upcoming device to address the mobile document imaging needs of the Mac community.
The Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M is one of the only single-pass duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) scanners available today for the Apple(R) community. Bundled with ABBYY FineReader(R) 3.0 for ScanSnap, a custom-built optical character recognition (OCR) software application based on ABBYY’s award-winning recognition technology, the S510M scanner enables users to convert documents into editable and searchable portable document format (PDF) files, all with the push of a button. The Fujitsu ScanSnap, supporting Mac OS(R) X v10.4 Tiger(TM), and Mac OS(R) X Leopard (available today by free download), has a compact, upright, “one-button” design equipped with a 50-page ADF that allows users to scan at speeds up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) for single-sided documents and 36 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents.
Fujitsu will give live product demonstrations to Macworld attendees at booth #S308 and is setting up one-on-one media briefings upon request.
