Security Tear Tape Range Proves “Essential”
Wednesday 02. January 2008 - Security Essentials Success
Leading tear tape manufacturer Payne is reporting lots of interest from a wide variety of markets for its Security Essentials range, a package of security features that are integrated into its tear tapes to give brand owners an important first step towards protecting their products against counterfeiting.
Launched earlier this year, the Tear Tape Security Essentials have been selected from the established range of security technologies available through Payne Security, in order to provide an extensive choice of authentication devices that can enhance and support a companys brand protection strategy.
“Security Essentials has now been fully rolled out globally and has been exceptionally well received by existing and new customers,” reveals Victoria Bettridge, Key Account Manager at Payne.
“A number of customers are already taking new security designs from the range, and we are initiating new projects nearly every week since the range was launched, which is a tremendous result,” she adds.
Markets being targeted include tobacco, cosmetics and perfumes, spirits, bottle sleeve manufacturers, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and other consumer goods such as CDs and DVDs.
For one tobacco products manufacturer based in the Middle East, Security Essentials has already delivered an effective anti-counterfeiting deterrent on its packaging without compromising on brand image. Al Fakher is using a double sided security tear tape incorporating Fine Line Print in order to differentiate genuine products.
Tear tape was regarded as the ideal means of doing this as the message is delivered at the point of opening, thus providing a triple solution that combines consumer convenience and brand reinforcement with product authentication.
The result is a security device that is easily identified by consumers but which is difficult for counterfeiters to copy.
In addition to fine line print, the choice of devices in the Security Essentials range comprises both overt and covert technologies, including Microtext Print, UV and Colour Shift Inks plus holographic options. These can be used individually or combined to provide a multi-layered security solution integrated into the tear tape.
