New Release of Tidal Enterprise Scheduler Supports Latest Systems and Applications From Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and VMWare

Wednesday 02. January 2008 - Offers the Most Complete Solution for Data Center Consolidation and Automation Initiatives

Tidal Software, a leading provider of application scheduling and performance management software, today announced the availability of Tidal Enterprise Scheduler 5.3.1. The release extends the 5.3 version of this popular job scheduler with support for the latest versions of enterprise systems and applications from Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and VMWare. Support for these latest versions further simplifies consolidation of enterprise scheduling onto a single job scheduler — a key objective for IT. With Tidal’s complete and easy-to-use job scheduling solution, IT can centralize schedules to a single point of management to gain greater visibility and control of operations than ever before.
In addition to new enterprise systems and applications support, the release also provides support for FTP over SSL (FTPS) and Alarmpoint 3, the newest generation of Alarmpoint’s enterprise event notification product.
With the new Tidal Enterprise Adapter for SAP Solutions 7.0, Tidal Enterprise Scheduler now supports XBP 3.0, SAP’s interface for extended control of background processing. This enables Tidal Enterprise Scheduler to capture and respond to SAP events, providing real-time event-driven business process automation for SAP Solutions.
With this release Tidal Software is now supporting the operation of the Tidal Enterprise Scheduler master and agents on VMWare, providing flexible deployment in a virtualized environment. Tidal supports a flexible licensing model, enabling sharing of agent licenses across VMs in a server.
Managing file transfer is often a key component in any complete automation solution. With the addition of FTP over SSL (FTPS), Tidal Enterprise Scheduler directly supports automated operation of the range of secure file transfer options, which previously included SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) with support for AES, DES, Triple DES, and Blowfish ciphers. Because Tidal Enterprise Scheduler can control access to authentication credentials — maintaining their privacy and providing full auditing capability of their use — it enables delegation of capabilities to IT operations and business users without compromising sensitive information or creating security and compliance issues.
Accompanying this release is a new version of Tidal Transporter. This product assists in managing the lifecycle of migrating job definitions from development to test to staging and production. Tidal Transporter supports consolidation and re-hosting initiatives by ensuring requisite job definitions and environments are managed and propagated with integrity.
The release validates operation of Tidal Enterprise Scheduler with Oracle E-Business Suite 12 and Microsoft Vista desktop and Windows Server 2008, future proofing scheduling as enterprises deploy the latest in applications, servers, and desktops.
“This release demonstrates our continuing commitment to deliver the most complete solution available for consolidation onto a single job scheduler,” said Wayne Greene, senior director of product management for Tidal Enterprise Scheduler. “Tidal’s product is consistently cited by customers for its ease-of-use. This combined with its support for everything from key operating environments, web services, storage management, to ERP applications, makes it the clear choice for IT to simplify the vital aspects of their operations.”
Previously, Tidal Enterprise Scheduler release 5.3 added support for Web Services and connectivity to MS SQL Server for scheduling database operations and responding to database events. The release also initiated support for operating the scheduler master on Linux, extending scheduling to lower cost platforms.
Tidal Enterprise Scheduler enables IT to automate and centralize scheduling across the enterprise, to increase efficiency, gain better visibility into and control over complex information processing operations, and make better use of valuable resources. Customers under current support can obtain Tidal Enterprise Scheduler 5.3.1 release from Tidal Customer Support.
