Sandon Global to bring anilox excellence and technical know-how to drupa 2024
Friday 31. May 2024 - Sandon Global, the British anilox manufacturer and drupa 2024 exhibitor, is poised to showcase its extensive technical expertise in flexographic printing and two decades of excellence in anilox technology at the Messe Düsseldorf from 28 May - 7 June 2024.
The company will present solutions that tackle common print challenges with award-winning results, whilst also improving its customers’ operational efficiencies and driving down costs.
Sandon Global’s technical experts will be on hand to present innovative engravings including its XPRO, GMX ANILOX, HVP and FLUID FP designed to overcome print hurdles such as scorelines, tricky coating applications, excess anilox inventories and pinholing. These alternative engravings promise greater precision, quality, and consistency compared to standard 60° cell designs, resulting in improved efficiencies and cost savings for printers.
Other highlights include showcasing the company’s patented anilox sleeve construction system (Pat. EP3368317B1 and Pat. US11059284) designed to prolong sleeve life, strategies for how to overcome challenges in water-based flexo printing on film and promoting its unique EDT sealing for oxidation (substrate corrosion) resistance. With one of the largest lasers in Europe, corrugated print customers can also learn more about the company’s laser capabilities with its impressive 6-metre engraving length.
As part of its drupa plans, and demonstrating its quest for continuous improvement, Sandon Global has collaborated with its OEM partner, SOMA, to design a bespoke end ring embedded with an RFID chip. SOMA’s automatic mounting devices communicate both registration and plate impression settings to the press using the RFID chip, which aids identification and digitises the entire flexographic print process. Attendees can visit the SOMA stand 15/A01 to watch live print demos and find out more.
With a new German office, Sandon Global GmbH, established in 2023 to allow easier trading with the EU, as a DFTA member Sandon Global will participate in drupa’s official Packaging Printing Technology and Innovation Tour led by Anke Frieser Tausch, technical head of the DFTA Technology Center.
“We are looking forward to presenting our latest company developments and to participating in some exciting industry initiatives and live demonstrations at drupa 2024,” said Richard Millington, Managing Director of Sandon Global.
As a leading anilox supplier to the flexographic print market, supplying the wide web, narrow web and corrugated sectors, Sandon Global has earned a reputation for total quality control due to its in-house manufacture of anilox rollers, mandrels, sleeves, and end-rings. Visitors to Sandon Global’s stand can learn more about the company’s rigorous in-house manufacturing processes, first-class quality standards, and metallurgical laboratory that keep it at the forefront of anilox innovation.
Richard continued, “Our decades of industry experience and technical know-how enable us to push the boundaries of what is possible in flexo printing. We’re eager to share our expertise with visitors and discuss how we can help printers worldwide in overcoming technical print challenges, increasing efficiencies, reducing costs, and achieving exceptional print quality.”
Sandon Global’s recent investments in its new UK HQ, advanced plasma coating and laser engraving technologies and development of its third Knowledge Transfer Partnership to boost production capabilities signals a new era of innovation and growth.
