Celebrating one year as Alleima

Thursday 07. September 2023 - The Sandvik AB Annual General Meeting on April 27, 2022, decided, to distribute all shares in the wholly owned subsidiary Alleima (former business area Sandvik Materials Technology) to the shareholders of Sandvik.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Alleima. On August 31, 2022, the company was listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and separated from the Sandvik Group. “We will always be proud of our heritage and journey. Today, we can conclude, that Alleima is a strong and independent company. It has truly been an exciting and eventful first year,” says Göran Björkman, President and CEO of Alleima.
Since 1862 Alleima has been a leading manufacturer of high value-added products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys.
The Sandvik AB Annual General Meeting on April 27, 2022, decided, to distribute all shares in the wholly owned subsidiary Alleima (former business area Sandvik Materials Technology) to the shareholders of Sandvik.
The new company name Alleima, is a combination of the words “alloy” and “material”, two core strengths of the company’s business. Shareholders of Sandvik received one share in Alleima for every five shares held in Sandvik.

The first year has been a continued testimony to the hard work, dedication, and commitment at Alleima. Today, Alleima has strong market positions and clear growth potential in several exciting segments. I would like to express my gratitude to all our employees, customers, partners, and stakeholders,” says Göran Björkman.
Some highlights since the listing:
During the year Alleima noticed a strong demand in the Oil & Gas, Industrial Heating, Transportation and Medical segments and received a breakthrough order of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) tubes to be used for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project. Alleima received a breakthrough order of steam generator tubes for Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and a larger order for the Medical segment.
Kanthal started a collaboration with Rath, a leading manufacturer of insulation and refractory technology and received several orders for industrial heating solutions in targeted applications such as solar, lithium-ion battery manufacturing and steel production. During the year Alleima acquired Endosmart, a German nitinol expertise company manufacturing medical devices and Söderfors Steel, a subcontractor to Alleima.
Alleima also invested in a new product line in Mehsana, India and launched new products, such as Freeflex, Damax and nickel alloys with Sanicro 625. Alleima also committed to set targets in line with the Science Based Targets initiative.
