NHNS Series Linear Guides in Digital Textile Printing Machines

Tuesday 15. February 2022 - The new generation of digital printing presses that the company is now presenting is characterised, among other things, by an extraordinarily high printing performance and speed. A machine can print several hundred thousand textiles per year.

A leading manufacturer of high-speed digital printers for textiles has decided to use NSK’s NH/NS linear guides. One reason for this is their special surface treatment. It protects the guides from wear – an important argument in view of the high performance of the machines, which can print several 100,000 textiles per year.
The new generation of digital printing presses that the company is now presenting is characterised, among other things, by an extraordinarily high printing performance and speed. A machine can print several hundred thousand textiles per year. This places very high demands on the linear guides that move the print head on all three axes. This is all the more true when the environmental conditions are unfavourable: The combination of humidity, heat and evaporation caused by the printing process accelerates the wear of all moving components.
To find the optimal linear guide for this application, the machine manufacturer turned to NSK. A team of experts from NSK analysed the application and the environmental conditions and recommended the linear guides of the NH/NS series, which differ from conventional linear guides thanks to a special, wear-resistant surface treatment.
One of the key design features of this series is a specially developed ball groove geometry. Compared to the previous series, this results in a dynamic load rating that is up to 30% higher. This leads to a doubled service life with extremely compact dimensions. Optionally, the linear guides are equipped with a chrome or fluoride-chrome coating to achieve an even longer service life. Stainless steel versions are available for corrosive environments.
In addition to high precision and long service life under adverse conditions, the manufacturer of the digital industrial printers also wanted a high degree of flexibility in terms of delivery availability, especially during the ramp-up of production. NSK was also able to meet this requirement without any problems, as the supply comes from several factories and warehouses in Europe.
