Guandong will be present at Fespa with a sea-inspired exhibition S.O.S.TAINABILITY style
Monday 09. August 2021 - Guandong will be present at Fespa 2021 with an impressive exhibition entirely inspired by the sea. A theme close to the heart of the specialist, which for several years has supported the 4ocean Foundation, which works to clean up the oceans.
The fair will be an opportunity to present to the international market all the innovations that the company has developed during this year of forced pause in the events. A time when Guandong’s research and development work did not stop to further optimise the collection’s products and develop new applications.
“If it is true that we can no longer expect major revolutions in the world of visual communication, today more than ever it is the current trends that make the difference, supported by manufacturers who, like Guandong, are committed to sustainable and ethical change,” comments Daniele Faoro, CEO of Guandong. Hence the idea to be present at Fespa with an exhibition area that allows visitors to experience first-hand the company’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Each part of the stand will therefore be decorated with different types of media, all bearing the “S.O.S.TAINABILITY” soul as they are made from recycled, recyclable and reusable materials. The iconic “bean” from Guandong, depicted as a hologram in different shades of colour, will embellish the graphics of the stand.
The word “S.O.S.TAINABILITY”, created from the graphic combination of “sustainability” and the Guandong logo, will be the protagonist of a large, eye-catching backlight made of the special Texon backlit textile. An entire wall will be dedicated to the new trend of wall decoration, with interchangeable graphics made of TAP, a self-adhesive polyester textile, the magnets and ferrites of the M&F Visual Comm line, and with ReVita Tack, a recyclable polyester made from the reuse of PET bottles, available in Classic and Puro versions with Nanodots adhesive technology. The reception area features a dynamic light box with evocative light shows made of backlit Lumi textile decorated with the GreenLife typeface, the brand that has marked Guandong’s commitment to sustainability since 2010. The large crossword puzzle printed on rewritable magnetic material will also be in line with this theme, so visitors can try to find “green” words. In the centre of the stand, a large whale made from recycled plastic bottles swims in a real sea, depicted with water effect prints on High Clarity, Guandong’s special optically transparent self-adhesive vinyl. Next to it, repositionable fish and sea creatures with double-sided printing on Wally and Nanotack with Nanodots.
“We are constantly developing new print media that are increasingly recyclable and environmentally friendly, favouring materials such as PET and PP made from recycled raw materials, all of which are compliant with the Global Recycled Standard, RoHS, EN71-3 and REACH,” explains Fabio Elmi, director of research and development at Guandong. A commitment that not only relates to the production and life cycle of the products, but also involves the entire company with exemplary behaviour aimed at reducing the environmental impact of each process. All the environmentally friendly activities carried out inside and outside the company have recently been summarised in “Green REvolution”, a real handbook on the company’s sustainability policy. Initiatives with which Guandong aims to contribute to the achievement of the 17 goals of the UN-sponsored 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. “Ten of these goals are already a reality for us, and our plans for the coming years will lead us to pursue as many of them as possible,” says Giulia Landoni, Guandong’s marketing and communications manager.
Among the novelties presented at Fespa is the new edition of the Red Book, a marketing tool unique in the industry that combines the traditional product sheets with the new sample kits. This is another way of addressing end-users, who are often looking for innovative ideas and solutions, in a more direct and effective language, allowing them to see for themselves the concrete application possibilities of the different materials.
“We live in a time when everything is changing very quickly. Guandong has always looked far ahead, but in order to face new challenges, it is necessary to collaborate and create synergies with other companies, including small but excellent ones,” comments Edoardo Elmi, President of Guandong. A strategy that Guandong is implementing and which will lead to the announcement of important new agreements to be officially announced at Fespa.
