The Postpress Alliance – Stay connected

Monday 05. October 2020 - Drupa 2020, Drupa 2021 ... The Postpress Alliance (the alliance between Baumann Maschinenbau Solms, Bograma, H + H, Hohner Maschinenbau, MBO Postpress Solutions, Wohlenberg and Perfecta) had prepared for Drupa with a great deal of passion.

Whatever the outcome – this alliance, which stands for a comprehensive portfolio of services ranging from data transfer from the MIS, cutting, folding, die-cutting, perfect binding or wire-stitching, to the processing of mailing and outsert systems – continues to drive forward joint activities in line with the slogan “we connect”.
The seven companies have used the weeks of the COVID 19 phase to put together packages of video demonstrations and programme items, because the market innovations originally planned for Drupa are, of course, still to be unveiled in 2020. The first Postpress Alliance open house at Hohner in Tuttlingen from 24-27 November will provide the perfect stage for this. Dealers and customers alike can look forward to a wealth of forward-looking ideas and solutions for print finishing.
New, innovative solutions for networking and automation await you at Baumann Maschinenbau Solms, Perfecta and Wohlenberg, the companies of the Baumann Group. Besides the current Wohlenberg solutions for perfect binding the companies present new innovations in the fields of cutting, jogging and robotics after the merger of the brands baumannwohlenberg and PERFECTA to baumannperfecta. With the BASA evolution baumannperfecta presents the new generation of the Baumann Automatic Jogging System (BASA). The compact and modular solution is characterised among other things by the sustainable drive technology and offers in the basic equipment the inexpensive entry into automatic jogging. Furthermore the latest generation of cutting machines will be presented. The machines appear in a new design and offer several innovations, such as the Cutpit control generation and an improved cutting cell for significantly longer knife life. In addition, an innovation for the automation of the cutting process will be presented in combination with a further developed robotics solution.
Bograma has now started marketing its new automated playing card production line, which was originally scheduled for launch at Drupa. It handles four processes in a single pass: inline die-cutting, collating, stacking and cellophaning of playing cards, parlour cards, trading cards and sports cards. But there is another innovation to come: the die-cutting of folding cartons with a new die-cutting process and a new STA 550 R pile delivery. This new principle “first crease, then die-cut” guarantees top crease quality with maximum flexibility.

Hohner Maschinenbau GmBH is not only celebrating its proud 90th anniversary in 2020, but is also looking forward to showcasing the new Hohner Hybrid Stitcher (HHS) “Futura”, a concept that offers finishing companies an economical solution that takes account of ever-changing market developments and even satisfies future needs and tasks. With up to five different functions and flexible adaptability and expandability that cannot be surpassed, this model will keep up with the times in the long term and grow with the customer or his customers’ requests in terms of technology, quantity and variety. Naturally, a number of innovations with added value will be introduced to the saddle stitcher flagship, the fully automated HSB13.000, in the course of a new release. MIS capability, a new freely positionable plano sheet feeder (PAL) and separate head-foot adjustment on the trimmer are just a few of the noteworthy new technical details.
MBO Postpress Solutions, which has just been renamed after a change of ownership, is continuing the success of the “CoBo-Stack” destacking robot launched in 2019 under the new Komori flag, and continues to focus on robotics, automation and Industry 4.0. At H + H, on the other hand, interesting new developments in the mailing and pharmaceutical package insert sectors are about to be launched.
“The Postpress Alliance” is pleased that Komori is an extremely strong partner in the background of the MBO Postpress Solutions, through which the alliance can only gain in attractiveness and significance in its appearance. Strong partners, that is also an important keyword in a year like this. Together, the companies of the Postpress Alliance will take on the challenges as machine builders, but also with the customers, because everything is easier when you work in partnership. And so the motto of the Postpress Alliance remains: Stay connected!
