Rating very strong: Award for sustainable commitment
Monday 03. August 2020 - The online printing company ONLINEPRINTERS was awarded the rating very strong by its customers for its sustainable commitment. In cooperation with the consulting and analysis company ServiceValue, the business magazine Focus Money evaluated over 1,700 companies from 134 industries in terms of sustainability in a study and interviewed more than half a million customers.
Carsten Träger, Member of Parliament for the constituency of Fürth in the German Bundestag, congratulated the company on this award with the words: “The printing industry is making great strides towards greater sustainability and environmental protection, that is not a matter of course. I congratulate ONLINEPRINTERS on the fact that their environmental commitment has now been awarded the ‘Sustainable Commitment’ seal,” said the politician, who is chairman of the Committee for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
Environmental protection in printing companies is more than just recycled paper
In the online shops of ONLINEPRINTERS, customers can find a wide range of recycled paper for printing flyers, business cards and similar printed matter, as well as textiles in organic quality. “But environmental protection in printing companies goes much further: At ONLINEPRINTERS we pay attention to environmental compatibility from the supply chain through the various individual production steps to shipping. Our paper comes from sustainable cultivation, in offset printing we have switched to the processless exposure of printing plates, thus not consuming valuable drinking water, and we use cradle-to-cradle-certified mineral oil-free ink. An important resource-saving process step is our collective printing process, with which we print in a particularly paper-saving manner. For some years now, ONLINEPRINTERS has also been increasingly focusing on digital printing, which does not require any printing plates at all and requires less paper for the proof,” explains Roland Keppler, CEO of ONLINEPRINTERS, who would like to thank his customers for this praise.
The more than 520,000 customers who took part in the online survey were first presented with a list of companies and asked whether they are or were already customers there. In a second step, the consumers were asked to what extent they have experienced in the last twelve months that the company is committed to sustainability. Companies that are above the average of the industry average receive the “strong” award. Companies that were above the average of the industry average, such as ONLINEPRINTERS, receive the “very strong” award.
