KLAPPERTs BildWerbung installs first HP Latex R1000

Friday 15. May 2020 - KLAPPERTs BildWerbung expands its machinery with its first HP Latex R1000. The Düsseldorf-based company, which specialises in digital printing, is replacing the HP Scitex FB550 with the digital printing machine in order to be able to respond to the new requirements of the printing industry.

“We were very satisfied with the machine, but the printing industry is constantly evolving and so are we, which is why we chose the new HP Latex R1000. Thanks to the know-how developed over the past few years, we knew what requirements we had for a new printer and what possibilities it had to offer,” says Ralf Klappert, owner of KLAPPERTs BildWerbung. The machine was implemented by COMPLOTT PAPIER UNION GmbH, who also advised KLAPPERTs BildWerbung on the appropriate HP model. KLAPPERTs BildWerbung has trusted COMPLOTT’s expertise for years – both in terms of printers and consumables.
Although the company was founded more than 25 years ago as a photo studio, it now focuses on the diverse product range of digital printing and supplies customers of various sizes and from a wide range of industries. In addition to fabric, banner, plate direct and foil printing, KLAPPERTs BildWerbung also offers poster printing as well as display systems and further processing. Due to the growing customer demands for individualisation and flexibility, the decision was now made in favour of the HP Latex R1000. This enables printing on both flexible and rigid materials. The water-based inks also preserve the look and feel of the printed materials, are completely odourless and harmless to people and the environment. HP Latex Overcoat also ensures good adhesion and scratch resistance at lower drying temperatures. In the course of this investment, KLAPPERTs BildWerbung decided to use a cutting system from Summa, because in this combination precisely printed and cut boards can be produced without flaking of the latex ink.
“For us it was clear that it had to be a hybrid printer as before, because we need this flexibility in our daily work. With the HP Latex R1000, we can print both roll and sheet materials,” said Klappert. In addition, the printing width of up to 160 centimetres and the possibility of white printing were decisive factors in the decision to purchase the HP Latex R1000. The HP Latex White Ink provides the white printing of the HP Latex R1000. It delivers brilliant white on a wide variety of materials. The HP thermal inkjet printheads, which can be replaced by the operator himself, can be stored in an offline rotation chamber when not in use, thus avoiding any loss where other systems have to constantly flush to prevent the heads from drying out.
“We have been interested in white printing for a long time, as we are receiving more and more customer inquiries about it. But until now there hasn’t been a suitable solution for us because we don’t need the white ink every day,” emphasizes Klappert.
