Canon ProStream 1000 delivers reliability and increased profitability

Friday 27. March 2020 - Since the Canon ProStream 1000 was launched and first installed in November 2017, the digital inkjet system has printed over two billion A4 pages. This corresponds to the printing of 12.8 million copies of the novel Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone with 352 pages each. The digital printing system is thus establishing itself as the most suitable solution for a wide range of high-quality applications.

Impressive productivity: two billion DIN A4 pages in two years
New standards for print quality compared to offset
Maximum system availability at full production speed even at:
Media up to 300 g/m² for book and magazine covers
Postcards up to 250 g/m²
Reliability and increased profitability
More than 30 installations with the Canon ProStream 1000 speak for themselves: the maximum system availability at full production speed are reference values that are particularly praised by users. Reliability and increased profitability of the system make it possible to achieve high-quality print results without compromising quality and to migrate from offset to inkjet printing. At the same time, the efficiency of the entire value chain is increased.
For the European customer Eversfrank Group, Sales Director Frank Ehrhorn confirms the flexibility of the digital printing system: “With this digital printing solution, we are excellently equipped to offer our customers individual output in a short time. With high performance, offset-comparable quality and the advantage of individualisation for large volumes, we are moving advertising printing forward. Supported by Canon’s expertise in integrating digital workflows for variable data, we significantly expanded our service offering. With the Canon ProStream 1000, we have opened a new chapter in commercial printing and opened up new opportunities for our customers on an industrial scale.
To further increase productivity while maintaining high quality and reliability, the Canon ProStream 1000 has been further enhanced through user feedback. The enhancements now allow printing on media up to 300 gsm for book and magazine covers and postcards up to 250 gsm at full production speed.
Peter Wolff, Vice President, Production Printing Products, EMEA Commercial Printing, Canon Europe, explains: “The introduction of the Canon ProStream 1000 has set a new benchmark for ink quality that rivals offset printing. The Canon ProStream meets both our customers’ quality expectations and their high-volume requirements. We know that investing in a digital continuous printing solution is a major investment for any business. While productivity and reliability are key to our customers’ purchase decisions, trust, support, expertise and advice are also crucial. That’s why, with Canon, our customers are not only investing in our technology, but also gaining a partner who is investing in their success”.
