Canon Colorado 1650 and UVgel ink certified by 3M
Wednesday 25. March 2020 - The Canon Colorado 1650 R2R large format printer and Canon UVgel 460 ink have been certified by the multi-technology group 3M with the 3M Performance Guarantee. Proof that printouts on the Colorado 1650 printer in combination with 3M approved media achieve the highest quality standards.
Flexibility and versatility
The Colorado 1650 Printer was first introduced at FESPA 2019 in Munich and has since been impressing with its versatile application possibilities for indoor and outdoor printing. The LED curing technology (FLXfinish) makes it possible to choose between matt and gloss mode without changing media or ink. This is not only convenient, it also speeds up processes and thus the productivity of the printing system. The 3M certification now provides additional investment security when purchasing the system.
The long-standing cooperation between Canon and 3M is designed, among other things, to ensure the quality and performance of UVgel prints on a wide range of 3M media.
All advantages in one device
“When we started developing our UVgel technology, our goal was to combine all the benefits of the various existing ink technologies into a single, new ink technology,” said Dirk Brouns, Vice President Large Format Graphics at Canon Production Printing.
“It’s great that media manufacturer 3M has certified the UVgel ink and Colorado 1650 prints with the 3M Performance Guarantee, proof that our customers can achieve consistently high quality and reliable prints. Our ever-growing customer base is quickly adopting UVgel as the technology of choice, both for current widespread media and for new innovative media such as PVC-free print media.
