Roland DG announces upgrade for all current TrueVIS VG models in the EMEA region
Thursday 07. November 2019 - Roland DG has announced the availability of a new upgrade for all TrueVIS VG owners in EMEA1. The upgrade offers all current owners of the VG-640 and VG-540 large format printercutter the ability to take advantage of many of the latest advanced features of the award-winning VG2 series by simply upgrading your current VG model.
These include the latest generation of TR2 ink[2] and the latest version of the powerful VersaWorks 6 RIP software. The upgrade also includes enhanced printing and editing capabilities, all-new hardware options, and a host of other firmware upgrades. All this adds up to increased productivity and efficiency.
Print, refine, and install graphics in a single day with award-winning TR2 ink and save up to 20% on ink.
By upgrading their current equipment, VG owners can take advantage of many new features in the VG2 range. Now their devices can be operated with the award-winning GREENGUARD Gold-certified TR2 ink. With this new ink, prints are ready for lamination in just six hours and can be finished immediately and installed the same day[3]. The TR2 ink is also certified for durable results through the 3M MCS Guarantee, providing users with the assurance of high quality and reliability in their graphics[4]. The VG range with TR2 ink is also covered by the Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee, which guarantees up to four years of outdoor life and up to seven years of indoor life[5].
Users of a VG who switch to TR2 color consume an average of 20%[6] less ink. They will also find that the ink delivers excellent results even in demanding applications where elongation, adhesion and abrasion resistance are critical. TR2 ink is ideal for automotive filming, offering up to 200% stretch[7] and unmatched washability for durable prints on personalized apparel.
The combination of TR2 inks with the new True Rich Color preset also provides richer colors and greater color accuracy in printing.
New features for optimized printing and cutting precision and more efficient production
The upgrade also includes a host of new features to optimize ease of use and print and cutting accuracy, as well as a number of optimized processes to speed up production. For example, compatibility with the advanced Roland DG Mobile Panel 2[8] allows you to perform more functions from your smartphone or tablet than ever before. This allows you to keep a good eye on your production even when you’re on the move and gives you more flexibility at work.
Once retrofitted, your VG is compatible with the new optional media rewinder (TU4), which supports two modes for improved rewind precision when processing different media types.
An excellent opportunity for VG users to increase device performance
Paul Willems, Head of Business Development and Product Management Roland DG EMEA, says: “The upgrade is an excellent opportunity for all VG owners to quickly and easily increase the performance of their combined printers and cutters with many of the latest VG2 innovations. This gives them a significant competitive advantage and even better service for their customers. It is also a perfect fit with our commitment to provide our customers with an excellent service that allows them to get the most out of their investment. The latest VG2 series has won industry awards and brings significant benefits to our customers. We are therefore excited to offer VG users the opportunity to upgrade to many of the VG2’s exceptional features”.
