LabelProfi signs for the 200th HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press to expand flexible packaging business
Tuesday 01. October 2019 - LabelProfi, a Slovenia-based labels and packaging converter, signed today at Labelexpo Europe 2019 for an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press to develop its new flexible packaging business, in a deal marking the 200th unit sold worldwide.
The HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press will be installed in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia in October, alongside LabelProfis two narrow-web HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses and label converting equipment. Just one year ago, LabelProfi commenced flexible packaging production by installing the Karlville Pack Ready Lamination Solution to convert films printed on their HP Indigo WS6800 presses, as it aimed to diversify business and tap into growing demand for flexible packaging.
The move to the 76 cm HP Indigo 20000 press with Karlville converting enables Labelprofi to build a high-capacity, digital print for Flexible Packaging solution, covering a wider range of application and product sizes.
“We set a business goal to transform our label business by offering on-demand, sustainable flexible packaging with fast time to market,” said Uro Slemenik, founder and CEO, LabelProfi. “With the new HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press we have the ability to extend our well-known service in the label industry to flexible packaging and continue delivering what our customers expect.”
Since launching flexible packaging services, LabelProfi has seen strong demand for short runs of various products, including films, pouches, sachets, wraparound labels, and personalized print.
“Congratulations to LabelProfi for taking the next step in delivering quality, fast turnaround and customer satisfaction with the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press,” said Alon Bar-Shany, general manager, HP Indigo. “The sale of the 200th unit is a significant milestone. The solution is now developed for customers to easily scale into a complete digital pouch factory that can grow into new applications offering on-demand delivery.”
LabelProfi is developing sustainable packaging solutions for the food industry. “Our customers want solvent-free, green packaging that can be recycled or even composted,” said Slemenik.
In 1994 LabelProfi began was founded as a small graphic design and prepress studio, and has since grown to a full provider of labels and packaging small and medium runs digital labels and flexible packaging.
“This year, as we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are excited to enter into a new chapter of our successful story with the new business opportunity we see in digitally printed flexible packaging.
We are confident in our market leadership and the local support we receive from HP to make it a success,” concluded Slemenik.
