Thursday 22. November 2018 - Leading Belgian chocolate packaging printer Imprepack invests in ROLAND 705 LV EVOLUTION press.
Belgium is renowned as being the centre of chocolate production. How the country’s chocolates are packaged for all the world to enjoy is thanks largely to the well-known packaging printer, Imprepack.
A family business, founded in 1928 with 20 highly qualified employees, Imprepack specializes in luxury packaging. For the last decade it has been dedicated to the “ballotin” (a deep decorative cardboard box, slightly larger at the top and with broad flaps) and other typical chocolate packages.
More than 10 years ago, Imprepack obtained the Certificate of Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials, a creditation which endorses the packages produced are ‘food safe’.
“We have been undergoing these strict controls every year and have achieved the required standards time and time again without any problems”, says owner and CEO Mr. Filip Winderickx. The new press also has all the facilities to produce “food safe” print.
Mr. Filip Winderickx is a third-generation member of the family-run company; he emphasizes print quality is of paramount importance to them. This is the main reason why they have remained the best choice for chocolate manufacturers for over 90 years, meeting delivery deadlines to all corners of Belgium and Europe from their Brussels facility.
“Imprepack works for the most renowned companies in the chocolate industry and these customers require the best quality and the best service. We always believe that the use of the worlds advanced printing technologies is a must to achieve high print quality and productivity. The ROLAND 705 LV press installed 17 years ago is solid proof of that,” Mr. Winderickx says.
In order to meet its business development targets and market needs, Imprepack recently installed the new ROLAND 705 LV EVOLUTION press.
“The start-up of the new press was very successful thanks to a structured pre-installation plan by Manroland Sheetfed’s technical team,” Mr. Winderickx says. “We would like to thank Manroland Benelux for the intensive training provided to our staff for production to run run smoothly and quickly.”
He adds: “We are very satisfied with the outstanding performance and print quality of this new press, particularly its fantastic print effects, such as, embossing to provide flexibility with customization. With higher automation and Manroland’s QuickChange option package, productivity and quality have increased impressively compared to that of our previous machine”.
