Offset Printing
Packaging and commercial printing in all their facets
Thursday 13. September 2018 - When INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT open their doors at the Jakarta International Expo Centre between 19th and 22nd September, all eyes will once again be focussed on the leading specialist trade fair for the packaging and printing industries in Indonesia. Koenig & Bauer will be represented with a joint stand of its subsidiaries Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed AG & Co. KG, Koenig & Bauer Flexotecnica S.p.A., Koenig & Bauer Digital & Webfed AG & Co. KG and Koenig & Bauer (SEA) Sdn. Bhd. in Hall D1 (Stand V11).
Together, they will be showcasing innovative solutions for economical, high-quality packaging and commercial printing, such as inline coating and both online and inline systems for continuous quality control. The staff on the stand are also able to provide information on tailored service and training packages, which enable even new customers to utilise the full competitive advantages of their Koenig & Bauer technology right from the beginning.
High-tech sheetfed offset and die-cutting technology
Particular attention is certain to be attracted by the Rapida family of sheetfed offset presses, with cutting-edge high-performance technology for the half-format (Rapida 75 PRO, Rapida 76), medium format (Rapida 105, 105 PRO and Rapida 106) and large format markets (Rapida 145/Rapida 164). This already impressive line-up is complemented with flat-bed die-cutters of the Optima and Ipress series in medium and large formats, and the innovative rotary die-cutter Rapida RDC 106, which sets new standards with regard to both makeready times and its die-cutting speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour. Alongside, the sheetfed specialists on the stand will be presenting a wide range of data-driven services such as PressCall, VisualPressSupport, performance reports or predictive services on the basis of artificial intelligence. Fair visitors can also look forward to insights into the capabilities of the Rapida LiveApps, which enable printers to monitor and control their Rapida sheetfed offset presses from a decentralised location.
Packaging production on corrugated board and flexible materials
Koenig & Bauer is similarly proud to spotlight new products for companies specialised in the post-printing and converting of corrugated board. These include not only innovative solutions for conventional flexo printing on corrugated board (CorruFLEX, CorruCUT), but also future-oriented digital technologies with the CorruJET. Modern flexo web presses for packaging production using plastic films and other flexible materials round off the presentations. Flexo printing is gaining in popularity in Asia as an alternative to packaging gravure, firstly as shorter runs can also be printed economically and in excellent quality, and secondly because the use of water-based inks makes the flexo process an especially interesting proposition for food packaging.
Indonesia – a growth market
With its enormous domestic market, Indonesia is a country with exceptional growth potential in the Southeast Asian region. Koenig & Bauer can already point to numerous sheetfed press installations in the Greater Jakarta area, and is set to further strengthen its market position through the work of a strong regional service team managed by Koenig & Bauer (SEA) and local partners in Indonesia. Operating from head offices in Kuala Lumpur, Koenig & Bauer (SEA) is already today supporting existing and prospective customers in the field of flexo printing with a highly qualified sales and service organisation.
