Boss Repro Bern modernizes its finishing processes with a new cutting machine
Thursday 04. May 2017 - Early this year, a new era dawned for Boss Repro Bern. The Swiss printing plant modernized its finishing processes with a POLAR D66 PLUS cutting machine. This investment allowed to significantly increase cutting efficiency.
Salvatore Protopapa, the responsible head of department is very happy with the new cutter: “Its just like a voyage to the future”. So far, he and his team had to manage all of the cutting jobs on a cutting machine which had seen better days. The existing machines no longer allowed an efficient production. Without further ado, the company decided to invest in an innovative cutting machine. Besides the easy handling, the machine size and price were decisive for choosing the D 66 PLUS cutting machine made by POLAR.
It was no problem at all to switch to this modern POLAR machine. The intuitive user guidance via 18.5″ touchscreen display ensured that operators easily familiarized themselves with the new machine. The integrated process visualization shows the operator how to handle the material. This significantly reduces the risk of errors during cutting. Repeat sequences can be saved and adapted at any time. “With the new machine I enjoy cutting much more than before”, says Luca Stauffer, the machine operator.
Boss Repro Bern
The company originates from the Lichtpausanstalt (blueprinting plant) founded in 1972. In 1989, Boss took the plant over and it has since developed into a quite diversified all-round printing company. In addition to digital printing, the range of goods includes also a CAD plot service, textile printing of banners, labeling of vehicles, vehicle signage, trade fair displays and, most recently, 3D prints. Boss Repro Bern performs its digital printing jobs on a HP Indigo 5500 where mostly business cards, mailings, folded cards and posters are produced. Customers are mainly from the Berner Oberland region.
