Doors are open at SGI Dubai 2017

Monday 16. January 2017 - SGI Dubai show, the biggest and most comprehensive exhibition catering not only to the signage and textile printing markets in the region and beyond, will open its doors today. Exhibitors from more than 40 countries and all five continents are showcasing their solutions for the industry.

Signage – digital and analog -, textile printing, digital printing, screen printing as well as prepress and postpress solutions are on display. The whole workflow and its tools required to produce printed matter can be seen by everyone.

The much anticipated show that is unique to the region has seen a surge in visitors in the last years. And it will be no different this year with visitors from near and afar coming to Dubai, visiting the Dubai World Trade Center, and inspecting the latest technology that is on offer.

Trends this year include textile printing that has evolved and can now be applied directly to substrates. This opens a host of new applications and individuality, personality is just an order step away. Retail and hospitality companies can thus implement their own CI, have individual and easily recognizable brand designs. Personal flooring and decoration of houses, flats, restaurants, hotels can be printed and installed, so that individuality is highlighted.

More to come is also in terms of environmental solutions: UV-LED technology, eco-solvent inks, digitial signage as well as other non-VOC emitting devices. Last but not least, paper and consumables companies are taking major steps towards lessening the environmental impact of their manufacturing processes.

“The last edition of SGI, SGI Dubai 2016, has already seen more than 12,000 visitors. We anticipate that this year’s show will be even more popular. Visitors are flocking into Dubai from all around the world, not only to be part of the first signage show of the year, but also to see the latest trends in the industry”, says Mr. Sharif Rahman, CEO, IEC. “Locally, in GCC and MENA, the signage industry is getting a boost by many new projects starting this year. Alone the hospitality and hotel sector will be spending more than double on new projects than last year. With Expo 2020 nearing, Dubai will see an increase in new projects that surpasses already those from before 2008. SGI Dubai 2017 caters to all those technologies that are required to enhance brands and architecture thus enabling the industry to grow healthily.

SGI Dubai 2017 show is held from January 15th to 17th 2017 at the halls 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
