Major UAE packaging printer celebrate 20 years in business

Monday 14. November 2016 - Majan Printing & Packaging Company L.L.C. (Majan) of the United Arab Emirates, one of the country's most successful and largest packaging printers, installs a new seven-color ROLAND 700 HiPrint.

Majan certainly know how to celebrate a milestone in business. On the company’s 20th anniversary, they added a new seven-color ROLAND 700 HiPrint to their stable of ROLAND presses, now a total of 13 Manroland Sheetfed presses since the business was formed 1996.

Majan specializes in folding cartons, labels and leaflets with folding color cartons accounting for 90% of its revenue.

Apart from the domestic market, Majan also caters to the needs of customers in Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Africa.

“With the world’s most advanced printing technologies and the concerted efforts by our 400 dedicated employees, we are committed to deliver high quality products suitable to all sectors in a very short lead time” says Mr. Khalid Abdullah Youssef, the company’s CEO & Board Member.

“Our international certifications, such as SGS, show our commitment towards health, safety, the environment and quality!”

Manroland has played a part in Majan’s success story. Over the years, Majan had invested in a number of ROLAND presses, such as the ROLAND 705 LV and ROLAND 706 3B LTTLV through Dynagraph, Manroland Sheetfed’s sales and service partner in the UAE.

In August, the new ROLAND 700 was installed in Majan’s vast production facility, heralding yet another new era of growth at UAE’s largest packaging printer.

“At the start, we only had two ROLAND presses. Now, on our 20th anniversary, we commissioned the 13th machine! The newly installed ROLAND 707 HiPrint will definitely drive business growth further,” said Mr. Khalid.

How can the new press help the company achieve greater success? Mr. Antoine El Kara, General Manager of Dynagraph, says the press has several new features that can “improve performance, drive productivity and help reduce operating costs”. The end result, he adds, is a greater return on investment. One of the key improvements is the Simultaneous Plate Loading (SPL) technology, which significantly reduces work load and increases productivity.

The suction belt sheet guiding technology replaces the traditional suction rollers with the suction belts, resulting in even better print quality and productivity. Lower production cost adds to its appeal.

The printing speed of the ROLAND 706 HiPrint has been boosted to as much as 17,200 sheets per hour. This shortens the lead time and, consequently, enhances customer satisfaction. The press also boasts the LEC (Low Energy Curing) UV drying technology. Not only does this reduce energy consumption and costs, it provides greater business opportunities in the lucrative UV printing market.
