Druckfarben launches calibrated underpacking sheets to complement its comprehensive blanket offering
Monday 21. March 2016 - As part of an ongoing strategic programme to offer one of the UKs most comprehensive blanket range and conversion service, Druckfarben has recently launched a highly competitive range of Druckfarben Calibrated Underpacking sheets.
To achieve an optimum printing result in the offset printing process, the even pressure of the printing cylinders against the entire print area is a key factor. Often the key role of the underpacking sheet is taken for granted, particularly when considering the necessary sheet characteristics required to achieve the best printing results.
After an extensive review of the market, Druckfarben has created its own range of precisely calibrated, slip-resistant underpacking sheets available in 9 colour coded thicknesses and commonly used sizes up to 166 x 127 cm. Each Druckfarben Underpacking sheet is thoroughly impregnated with anti-moisture protection to reduce the risk of sheet swelling. In addition a special anti-slip surface reduces slipping and prevents the sheet from being pushed together under the printing plate, or rubber blanket. The choice of thicknesses runs from 0.10mm to 50mm with each thickness colour coded to help facilitate the choice of the correct sheet in a busy press room.
Druckfarben continues to expand its blanket capabilities in-line with customer requirements. In August 2015 it relocated its blanket department to a bigger site in Corby Northamptonshire with additional investment in a new state of the art CAD blanket converting machine and new people.
